Day 2: Vacation!

So last Friday morning, I woke up and walked out my bedroom door to see a note saying something to the effect of:
"Good- morning! Today will be a long day of tasks that you must accomplish in a timely manner but at the end of the day it will all be worth it. Your first task is to memorize Proverbs 12:4 " An excellent wife is the crown of her husband" Write it out 21 times, and text me when you have it memorized. Love- Matt"

OK....This kind of thing totally excites me! Challenges with rewards- plus it made my Friday go by so fast! I memorized the verse and got many more challenges to follow.... they were random, but mostly things like....Go clean out your car...take the kids to lunch....play wii fit....do the laundry....etc...etc... this went on ALL day long... Then at about 4:30 he told me to go get gas in my car, and to meet me at the church parking lot. When I did, he had my blind folded, and got in the driver seat. On our way down the highway, he explained we were going on vacation to Bear Lake reserve! FUN....he even took Monday off work. I was sooo excited. He had already packed all the clothes, kids clothes, stuff, etc... that we needed and we were on our way.

It was a 4 hour drive, and the kids were so excited. We made plenty of stops and by the time we got there it was probably 11:00 at night, but we were all in good moods and happy to be on vacation. The condo (that was given to Matt) was BEAUTIFUL. Here are some pictures from when we first arrived.

You can tell the kids were tired from the long trip.....

Looking down at the living room from the loft area.

The loft area.
The kids bedroom.

We were like 45 minutes from civilization. You literally drove up the side of a windy mountain, and it was GORGEOUS. We were basically the only people there since it was a down season, and we had the place to ourselves. They had a lake club, with a movie theatre, kids play area, and a really cool pool with a rock slide. Here are the some pictures from the next day.

Matt made us the most YUMMY breakfast ever!!!

Daniel on our back porch.

This was the pool and rock slide. Our condo is the one on the left.

Daniel enjoyin the slide!

Abby enjoyin the slide!
Ella saying "I wanna do the slide!!!"
And Ella enjoyin the slide with Daddy! But after the first time, she got brave and continued doing it by herself all day long!

After swimming, we let the kids do art crafts, watch cartoons, play games, etc...in the kid area.
We then went and played bubbles, and water guns!

They were SOOO happy!

Time to skip rocks....

we completely wore them out!!!

We continued to do the same thing the next couple days and just relaxed and had such a great family time.

There is a saying "vacation with kids, is life in a different location!" Well...not for us! This truly was such a relaxing and fun vacation. The kids were awesome, we had a blast and we are already planning our next family vacation when Jacob is a couple month's old!!!
